The Woods of Tennessee

Believe it or not this was taken while turkey hunting in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. Some people find it boring to sit in one place for hours...keeping still and not making any noise....but when you look at scenery like this, its easy!

Adams Station Barn

If you get to eat at one of the best BBQ establishments on this earth "Adams Station BBQ" in Tennessee, look across the road at this little gem...endless possibilities.

The Boat

Another trip to my favorite place stirred up several great pics...Although I've stared at this old barn a thousand times, the changing seasons bring out different colors and completely different moods. While the barn itself is usually the obvious focal point, this time it was the boat for me!

Featured Photographer of the Week *Madison Crouch*

On occasion, I would like to feature photographers I have met, know and who inspire me. I think I'll start with my daughter Maddy.  Maddy is a beautiful talented young lady who has more creative talent in one finger than I ever did at her age.  On her first outing with one of my old cameras, she came up with this. "The Old Fire Truck"..Amazing!

Cowboy Sunset

Every now and then, I think I will unearth some of the photos I took way back when I was just learning how to operate a camera. Armed with 4 years of 4H photography lessons (Thanks Mrs. Christiansen!) and my trusty Pentax K1000, I tried to take my first self portraits on a timer. It took several attempts running up this hill to get it just right, but the sunset over the Rockies made it all worth it!

Old Barn #1 Black&White vs Color

There is no shortage of old Barns in Tennessee. Cattle barns, hay barns, tobacco barns....you get the hint. Well if you travel to Cedar Hill, you can see several of these on the Carr Farm, where these were taken.  Although I think the B&W ones bring out the personality of each structure, sometimes a splash of color gives the old barn life! You be the judge.

Photo #2 Twins

As you will learn if you follow my blog, I love nature shots and stills. I always avoid saying I do portrait work, but being a parent changed that perspective. So there you have it...I "Dabble" in portraits....enjoy!

Dana Point Dolphin

I thought I'd open up with a bang! Let me start by saying...I don't think of myself as a photographer, but more as a..
photo-opportunist of sorts. I have tons of "Vision", but it seems like one has to take a thousand pics to get that one good one! I did take 4 years of Photography in 4H when I was young (Thankyou Mrs Christensen!), and from the moment I bought my first Pentax K1000, I knew I wanted to be a photographer!
